Dr. Andres Soriano is a physician partner with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, where he specializes in hematology and oncology. Since joining FCS, he has built a thriving oncology practice serving patients throughout Venice, Englewood, and North Port, providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

A native of Ecuador, Dr. Soriano graduated as valedictorian of his medical school class at the Universidad de Guayaquil before completing his fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. During his training and research career, he received both the American Society of Hematology National Merit Award and the American Society of Clinical Oncology Investigator Award in recognition of his academic and research achievements.

Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Dr. Soriano also continues his study of French, Italian, and Latin. He believes that learning languages cultivates attentive listening, deepens cultural understanding, and fosters meaningful collaboration—qualities that enrich both his medical practice and his service on the Governing Board of Chesterton Academy of St. Padre Pio.

A faithful Catholic and servant leader, Dr. Soriano strives to integrate his faith into every aspect of his life. He is actively involved in his parish community, attending daily Mass and Eucharistic Adoration whenever possible. He has served as a lector, a member of his parish Pastoral Council, and is a Knight of Columbus at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. Together with his wife, Dr. Lorena Posligua, he is a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. They have been blessed to make pilgrimages to the Holy Land and to many of the Church's great Marian shrines, including Fátima, Medjugorje, and the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Dr. Soriano is deeply committed to Classical Catholic education and its pursuit of the Good, the True, and the Beautiful. He believes that an education rooted in the great works of Western civilization and the rich intellectual tradition of the Catholic Church forms not only knowledgeable students but also virtuous men and women prepared to serve God and others.

As the father of one of the Academy's founding students, Dr. Soriano has witnessed firsthand the joy, confidence, and spiritual growth fostered by its mission. His experience as both a parent and board member strengthens his commitment to advancing the Academy's mission of forming future leaders and saints.
