Meg McDonnell recently retired from a distinguished 22-year career in urology medical sales, where she made significant contributions in pharmaceutical and molecular cancer genetics, with a specialization in prostate cancer. Her career included 13 years with Astellas Pharma and nine years with Myriad Genetics. Throughout her professional journey, Meg was known for her dedication, integrity, and expertise, helping advance patient care and innovation within her field. She brings those same qualities to the work she is committed to doing to grow Chesterton Academy of St. Padre Pio.
Meg’s deep commitment to service, leadership, and stewardship within her community led her to chair St. Joseph School’s Annual Gala and Auction for three consecutive years, cultivating meaningful community partnerships and helping generate substantial support for the school’s mission. For the past two years, she has done the same for her parish, Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, where she co-chaired the gala raising significant funds for the parish building campaign. She will use her experience to support the fundraising initiatives of the Academy.
Meg began her academic journey on a full tennis scholarship to North Carolina State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English with a minor in Communications. A Florida native, she was born and raised in St. Petersburg and has called the Bradenton–Sarasota area home for the past 23 years. She and her husband have been married for 30 years and are blessed with two young adult sons.
Meg’s involvement with Chesterton Academy of St. Padre Pio is rooted in her desire to help form and inspire the next generation. She wholeheartedly embraces the academy’s mission to cultivate an authentically Catholic culture where young people can flourish academically, spiritually, and personally. With a servant’s heart and steadfast faith, Meg is passionate about encouraging students to live with courage, conviction, and a deep sense of purpose grounded in Christ.
