Genevieve Surprenant is deeply rooted in Catholic Classical education and the Socratic method, having spent four transformative years at Magdalen College of Liberal Arts in New Hampshire. There, she was immersed in a rigorous and integrated curriculum very similar to the Chesterton educational model. In the Great Books program at her college, she engaged with hundreds of seminal works spanning from Ancient Greece to the Modern world in Literature, History, Philosophy, and Theology. Her study of Humanities was accompanied by courses in Latin and Ancient Greek. As part of her academic pursuits, Genevieve participated in numerous drama productions, studied studio art and Iconography, and was an active member of the Women’s Chant Schola, singing Gregorian chants for liturgical feasts, as well as the Polyphony Choir, performing intricate musical pieces at events.

Genevieve holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a Catechetical Diploma from the Holy See. Over the past year, she taught 11th-grade Theology, Honors Literature, and 10th-grade History at Padre Pio Academy in Virginia as a substitute teacher. In addition to her classroom teaching, Genevieve instructed beginners and intermediate piano at Mountain View Music, assisted as a choir director at her parish, and contributed as a catechist, helping prepare catechumens for the sacraments.

Driven by her love for both her faith and teaching, Genevieve will join Chesterton Academy of St. Padre Pio as a humanities faculty member, where she will continue her dedication to inspire and educate the next generation in the rich tradition of Catholic classical education.
