Ms. Zöe Rizzo is a practicing artist and proponent of the classical art tradition, applying representational techniques with historical roots dating back to the Middle Ages.
After beginning her studies as a Fine Arts undergraduate at Ringling College of Art and Design, she pursued specialized instruction at Miano Academy of Art where she spent three years as a full-time apprentice. Zöe continues to take classes and train with senior artists to improve her work, and spends her free time developing a portfolio of narrative illustrations for books. She has sold gallery work, taken private commissions, and painted murals for local businesses while continuing to display her work at group exhibitions.
Zöe credits the Lord with her sustained ability to study the craft of drawing and to pass on what she's learned to her students at Chesterton. She finds joy in helping them exceed their expectations and create work they take pride in; to this end, Zöe aims to create a classroom environment that allows for convivial, stress-free learning. Zöe believes an understanding of the visual arts is crucial to comprehending the beauty of the world around us, and continues to share this understanding with her students at Chesterton Academy of St. Padre Pio.
