GivingTuesday began 11 years ago as a simple idea: to encourage people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give generously on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving; this year that’s on November 28.

After the craze of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, we arrive to GivingTuesday, which brings us back to what Thanksgiving and the month of November is all about –– a time to look up from our own busy lives (and spending sprees) to see how we can make a significant difference in the lives of others. It’s a time to unite people in gratitude for the many blessings and good still found in a broken world.

For us at Chesterton Academy of St. Padre Pio, we are giving heart-felt thanks to another generous donor who has stepped forward to offer a dollar-for-dollar match raised during GivingTuesday because they believe in the power that a Chesterton education has to nurture the hearts, minds and souls of students. We have been blessed by many people who have already joined us to ensure the success of this school.
